Our People |
Gerald A. Furgione, Executive Director
Prior to being named Executive Director Jerry served as PhillyCarShare’s Director of Corporate Development. His responsibilities included the organization's marketing and membership development. Since 2006, Jerry has grown PhillyCarShare’s corporate membership from a handful of businesses to over 1200 companies. His efforts have helped change the way Philadelphia businesses think about sustainable transportation options.
Jerry has had a successful career in sales and marketing in the automotive, real estate and advertising industries. He has worked in that capacity for Verizon, Lennar, and Mercedes Benz.
A graduate of Rutgers University, Jerry is Vice Chairman of the Ambassador's Committee of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Steering Committee of The Greater Philadelphia Green Business Commitment, a member of the Transportation Committee of the Next Great City initiative, a member of the Center City Proprietors Association's Green Committee, and is one of the founders of the Philadelphia Green Office Pledge, a movement which identifies thirty ecologically responsible actions that every business can take in sourcing, energy use, recycling and transportation.
Cool fact: Vietnam Veteran, former Philly cab driver, and former drummer for the Fabulous Finn Brothers.
Natasha Boothman, Human Resources & Member Services Manager
Part of the PhillyCarShare team since 2007, Natasha Boothman co-manages Member Services and is responsible for Human Resources activities. Natasha received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art from Temple University following several semesters at Savannah College of Art and Design. She completed Drexel University’s graduate Art Therapy program in 2007. Her arts and psychology background make Natasha an advocate for ever-improving communication, creativity and professional development at PCS. She rounds out her repertoire of dynamic soft skills with quirky left-brain penchants for completing routine paperwork, organizing data, and administering employee benefits.
Natasha lives in Manayunk with her longtime partner, Christopher, and their two dogs, Fin and Gretchen. Other big loves include movies, design blogs, cottages by the sea, relief printmaking, hand-dipped milkshakes, nostalgia-seeking road trips, and her best friend/brother, Ian.
Emily Fleck, Head of Project Management
Lured to Philadelphia with visions of Phillies games and sidewalk-cafe brunches, Emily stumbled upon car sharing after moving from Allentown in 2006. She was hired by PhillyCarShare on account of her deadly deductive reasoning skills and the spatial orientation that could have only come from a Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Science. Starting in Member Services, she has worked her way through the Operations department, sprinkling her super-efficient pixie dust on everything in her path. Emily serves as PhillyCarShare’s liason to the independent car sharing industry and is passionate about improving collaboration among its members.
When not pondering the contents of her latest pivot table, Emily likes to cook and bake for fun (for sustenance, too, of course). Some of her house specialties include cayenne-tinged macaroni and cheese, Pennsylvania Dutchy-style turkey soup, and chocolate chip scones. She is also an avid dancer and has been a student of vintage jazz dances for many years. She is an organizer, teacher, and DJ with LaB, a local organization dedicated to the preservation and proliferation of lindy hop, blues, balboa, and Charleston. Emily and her partner Benjamin reside in Center City with two rambunctious cats.
Judith Harvey, Member Services Manager
Born and raised in West Philly, Judith grew up on SEPTA’s Rt. 34 trolley line and didn’t drive till she turned twenty-one. She came to PhillyCarShare in early 2007, after college in Philly, grad school in Chicago, and then two years on the left coast (hey PDX!). A classic middle-child, Judith works as a mediator, a rule-follower, and an outspoken advocate for members and the Member Services team.
Judith’s a ruthless editor of text and copy – which is lucky because she loves crafting training materials, e-mails to members, and long-winded documents that invariably need to be edited for length. She also loves paper in all forms, paper crafts, funky folders, and of course a well-written list. Judith loves dogs (even the funny-looking ones!), long walks in the woods by her house (with aforementioned dogs), and beating her partner Kim at board games.
Heather Kemp, Marketing Project Manager
Heather joined the PhillyCarShare Marketing Department in 2007 and currently manages corporate and university partnerships, neighborhood outreach, and community relations for the organization. On any given day, you may find her working with developers and civic associations to secure on-street parking or additional pods for the organization, crafting messages and newsletters to our wonderful members, dreaming up the next promotion, working with local companies and organizations to broaden our reach, speaking to college students across the city about the benefits of going car-free, setting up new corporate accounts, or creating nifty maps of where our members reside. Heather is a Minnesota native who found her way to the east coast after receiving her Bachelors Degree in Marketing and Spanish from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is a member of YPN (Young Professionals Network) and PYNL (Philadelphia Young Nonprofit Leaders).
When not spreading car sharing to the masses, she enjoys vegan cooking and baking, relaxing at the shore during the summers and on the slopes in the winter, tackling the daily KenKen, crafting, and interpretive dance (you know you do it too). She lives in Graduate Hospital with her fiancé Chuck and is happily in the midst of wedding planning.
Rob Munsch, IT Administrator
Rob joined PhillyCarShare in early 2008 as a Member Services associate. Enthused by the company’s mission and with two decades’ IT experience, Rob set out to create an internal IT department that matched PCS’ own vision of innovation and sustainability; both environmental and economic. Through a variety of proprietary and Open Source solutions, Rob works to take a traditional cash and energy drain and help it stay greener and leaner.
When not working with computers at PCS, Rob can be found tinkering with them at home, or for friends, or for random people having trouble in cafés... Rob’s also an electric violinist with over 30 years playing experience in many styles and musical genres, and has performed with various Philly bands and musical productions. He’s been a professional actor, albeit briefly, and a resident at Hedgerow, where he got to apply his technical, musical, acting and administrative skills (and frequently all at once!).
Ellen Rivers, Deputy Fleet Director
A longtime Delawarean, Ellen Rivers joined the PhillyCarShare family in the spring of 2007. Ellen graduated from the University of Delaware in 1998 with a B.S. degree in Business Administration and completed the University of Delaware MBA program in 2007.
Ellen enjoys spending her spare time watching “Law and Order”, experimenting with different recipes, reading crime novels, and, of course, shopping.
Stewart Roseman, Controller
As the newest member of the PhillyCarShare family, Stewart heads the Accounting and Finance department. He lived in Los Angeles for over 40 years, and only recently moved here to be near family and escape the "concrete desert" of smog and earthquakes. While there, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Quantitative Psychology at UCLA and MBA in Finance at Loyola Marymount University, and followed up by passing the examinations for Certified Public Accountants and Certified Management Accountants. He works hard at managing our debits and credits in order to keep PhillyCarShare strong fiscally.
Stewart lives in the Ambler area with his wife Francine, daughter Taylor and a Great Dane named Rosie. He enjoys tennis, racquetball, bicycle riding, chess and science fiction books and movies.
