How it works

 

Part 1: The basics

PhillyCarShare is a non-profit car sharing cooperative that gives you access to cars by the hour, whenever you need them. Once you become a member of our community you can choose from approximately 250 cars located around the city.
Rates start at $3.45 an hour plus 25¢ per mile and include gas, premium insurance, maintenance, roadside assistance, and 24-hour helpline.
You can shop at Ikea with a pickup, get fresh groceries in a Prius, or meet clients in an Audi. You can even sign up your company for travel convenience on the job.

 

Part 2: Become a member

First, make sure that car sharing is right for you and that you are eligible for enrollment.
Choose your membership type and fill out the application form
Complete the online orientation for new members. After applying you'll be taken to a short orientation that explains how the system works.

 

Part 3: Learn the steps and culture of car sharing
reserve Make your reservations online at www.phillycarshare.org or by phone at 215-730-0988. Make sure you have your Member ID # and Pin. Choose whichever car and location suits you best.
unlock Unlock the car using your personal key fob.
drive Start the engine and drive away! Be sure to return the car to the same POD, before your reservation expires. Clean up after yourself and lock the car with your key fob.
