Late Returns: $40 per half hour (or part thereof) beyond my end time + costs incurred + time used
- Example: My reservation ends at 4:00pm and I return at 4:10pm. My fee is $40 and I will pay for the vehicle until 4:15pm.

Medium: $30 + costs incurred
- I returned the car improperly
- less than ¼-tank of fuel
- to wrong pod or parking space without informing PhillyCarShare (less than ¼ mile from pod)
- very dirty
- with key left in ignition; car running; light(s) on; window, convertible, or hatch open, etc.
- I picked up the car more than 10 minutes early
- I failed to pay a parking ticket, toll, or moving violation and PhillyCarShare had to pay it for me
- My credit or debit card failed when invoice balance is charged
- I swapped key fobs during my trip to lock/unlock my vehicle, or a different member ID was used to make my reservation

Serious: $50 + costs incurred
- I drove without a reservation on that vehicle
- I failed to use my key fob to properly lock the vehicle
- I detached the ignition key, or discovered it detached and failed to report it

Extremely Serious: $250 + costs incurred + I agree to waive all PhillyCarShare insurance and accept sole responsibility for any and all associated damage and liability loss + immediate termination
- Smoking: I smoked in the vehicle, or I discovered evidence of smoking and failed to report it
- Pets: I carried a pet outside a carrier, or I discovered evidence of this and failed to report it
- Abandonment: I abandoned the vehicle more than one quarter mile from its pod
- Tampering: I altered the vehicle or its on-board computer without PhillyCarShare authorization
- Unauthorized driver: A non-PhillyCarShare member (or a restricted member) drove during my trip or by using my key fob

Cancellations or Adjustments: I am responsible for any reserved time from now through the next three hours, whether I cancel or adjust my reservation. I am not responsible for any of this time that is re-used by another member. Funds are returned to your PhillyCarShare account upon cancellation of your reservation.
- Example: My trip starts at 2pm, and I cancel at 11am. FREE!
- Example: My trip starts at 2pm, and I cancel at noon. I pay for one hour.
- Example: My trip starts at 2pm, and I cancel at noon, but another member “recycles” my cancelled time by booking a new trip. FREE!
I booked a car without using it or cancelling. I pay for time reserved plus estimated mileage (7 miles per hour). |
Staff Time: $20 per half hour + costs incurred
- This relates to staff time required to perform roadside service due to negligence of member. Roadside service due to vehicle malfunction is complimentary.

Administrative Fees: Varies
- $30: I change my plan type more than once per year (cost per additional switch)
- $30: I lost my key fob or did not return it within 30 days of closing my account

Credits
- $200: I refer a business that joins the Green Business plan (10+ drivers). Learn more here.
- $100: I find a free off-street parking location that PhillyCarShare ultimately uses as a pod.
- Costs incurred (only after authorization from PhillyCarShare):
- The car I’ve reserved is unavailable and PhillyCarShare has authorized me to take a taxi to another pod, or to take alternate transportation to my destination.
