Recent Partnerships

PhillyPatientRide

Transportation to scheduled treatments ranks as one of the greatest challenges patients face on their road to recovery. As an innovative solution, PhillyCarShare joined forces with the American Cancer Society to form PhillyPatientRide, a program that matches volunteers with PhillyCarShare vehicles to provide cancer patients with free transportation to scheduled treatments.

Electric Vehicle Project

As a result of a joint effort between PhillyCarShare, the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, and 16 businesses, universities, and nonprofit organizations, the City of Philadelphia will be receiving a $140,000 Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  16 of the 20 charging locations built will be dedicated to new PhillyCarShare Electric Vehicles (EVs) that are planned to be added to our fleet.

By displacing traditional gas powered vehicles, this cutting edge project is expected to substantially cut CO2 emissions and provide visibility to the nationwide challenge of introducing EVs into the mainstream of the American transportation system. We look forward to giving Philadelphia residents the opportunity to experience Electric Vehicles and to enhance our mission to reduce dependence on carbon fueled automobiles in Philadelphia in a new and relevant manner.

CarSharing Association

PhillyCarShare is proud to join seventeen other carsharing organizations from around the world in forming a new CarSharing Association!  The CSA sets the ethical, social and environmental bar for the carsharing industry by focusing on environmental and social impact and responsibility, education, research and ethical practices.  PhillyCarShare has worked with our friends in carsharing for years to get this Association moving, and we’re so glad to have our 13,000+ members join with us!
