David Week One: Well, since the launch event, I have not driven - nor been driven in - any automobile. Notwithstanding that, I have still managed to keep all my appointments - including one at the running shoe store - by walking and using my condominium house bus which encircles center city every half hour until early evening. The Puma running shoes seem to be of exemplary quality and are a very nice bonus for participation in the program. Week Two: This has been an uneventful week. Since I didn't receive my keyfob until last Wednesday, I had no occasion to use one of the PhillyCarShare cars. I have, however, been using the new Pumas for exercise and they are very comfortable. Also, over the weekend I visited the PhillyCarShare pod at 22nd Street & Fairmount Avenue. Week Three: This week I had no occasion to use one of your cars. I did, however, get in a lot of walking in my new Pumas. I even visited one of the pods where the PhillyCarShare cars are kept on my way to a homeless outreach center at which I volunteer. Week Four: This week was relatively uneventful. I didn't attend many social events on account of the rainy weather. However earlier in the week I had promised to meet with someone in the evening diagonally across town, which commitment necessitated my waiting for the bus and train - in both directions - in very wet, blustery, cold and generally uncomfortable conditions. I was not happy. Even with using one of your cars, I would have had to traverse the bad weather to reach the pod. In my experience, the biggest drawback to giving up one's car and using the PhillyCarShare membership is the loss of spontaneity. Week Five: This week I was determined to use one of PhillyCarShare's Smart-for-Two automobiles. Sadly, none of these cars are kept at a PCS pod convenient to my home. Too Bad. |
