But did you know that every PhillyCarShare vehicle helps eliminate 81,000 pounds of CO₂ emissions per year? Since 2002, PhillyCarShare has helped members own 13,000 fewer cars, drive 42% fewer miles, and drive hybrids – saving 35.2 million pounds of CO₂, equivalent to the impact of planting a whole forest of 700,000 trees.

And we’re not done yet!

PhillyCarShare’s goal by 2010 is to remove 40,000 cars from the roads, reducing carbon emissions by 200 million pounds since inception. To do this, we’ll need to add nearly 1,000 shared vehicles to our fleet and grow another 50,000 members. This is no small feat, but PhillyCarShare is up to the challenge and knows that you are, too!
